Privacy policy
Your listening stays yours.
SleepCast was built without accounts, advertising, or tracking. This policy explains the data the app needs to work and the controls that remain in your hands.
Your listening history and personal content are not collected.
Transcription and supported summaries run on your device.
No advertising profile, analytics account, or tracking cookie.
The short version
SleepCast does not require an account, does not contain advertising, and does not include tracking or third-party analytics. The developer does not collect your listening history, subscriptions, bookmarks, transcripts, summaries, or sleep-timer activity.
Your app data is stored on your device and, where supported and enabled by your Apple account, in your personal iCloud environment so it can remain available across your devices.
Information stored by the app
SleepCast stores the information needed to provide the features you choose: podcast subscriptions, playlists, queue state, playback progress, ratings, bookmarks, settings, downloaded episodes, optional bookmark audio fragments, listening statistics, sleep-timer event history, transcripts, and summaries.
This information is used inside the app. It is not used to build an advertising profile and is not sold to anyone.
Podcast directories, feeds, and media hosts
When you search, refresh a feed, stream, or download an episode, your device connects to Apple’s podcast directory, the podcast publisher, or the publisher’s hosting provider. These services receive the standard technical information needed to answer an internet request, such as an IP address and device networking information, under their own privacy policies.
SleepCast does not add a user account identifier or advertising identifier to those requests.
Transcription and summaries
Episode and bookmark transcription is performed on device with WhisperKit. Where supported, summaries and short wake-up recaps use Apple’s on-device intelligence frameworks.
Generated transcripts and summaries are stored with your app data until you delete them. Model availability depends on your device, operating system, language, and the options you select.
iCloud and Apple services
SleepCast uses Apple platform services for features such as iCloud synchronisation, notifications, background tasks, and Live Activities. Apple processes the technical information required to provide those services according to your Apple account settings and Apple’s privacy terms.
Data synchronised through iCloud remains associated with your Apple environment rather than a SleepCast account.
Motion and optional location access
Sleep-timer motion features use movement signals to decide whether an active timer should be extended or whether playback should resume. These signals are evaluated for the feature and are not sent to the developer.
The experimental speed-sensitive volume feature can use location-derived speed while it is enabled. Location is not used for advertising, profiling, or discovering where you live. You can leave this feature off or revoke permission in system settings.
Notifications
If you enable new-episode notifications, SleepCast checks podcast feeds and asks Apple’s notification system to display relevant alerts. You can disable these alerts in SleepCast or in system settings at any time.
Your controls
You can remove subscriptions, playlists, queue items, bookmarks, fragments, downloads, transcripts, summaries, and statistics from the relevant app screens. You can also change or revoke notification, motion, and location permissions in Apple system settings.
Deleting the app removes local app data according to Apple’s platform behavior. Data previously synchronised with iCloud may remain in your personal iCloud storage until it is removed through the app or your Apple data settings.
This website
This support website does not use analytics, advertising pixels, cookies, user accounts, or a contact form. Choosing the email link opens your own mail application; your email provider then processes the message you decide to send.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when SleepCast features or platform requirements change. Material changes will be reflected here with a new update date.
